Synopsis

Clive Owen plays Joe Warr, a sports journalist's whose wife dies, leaving him to care for their young son, Artie (Nicholas McAnulty), alone. Harry (George MacKay), Joe's teenage son from a previous marriage in Britain, also comes to live with him in South Australia.

Hahndorf Resort, Adelaide Hills, South Australia

Location notes:

Joe takes Artie on a road trip to try to recover from the death of Katy (Joe's much missed wife and Artie's mother). Hahndorf is one of the places where they stay along on the road trip.

Hahndorf is located half an hour's drive East of Adelaide in the Adelaide Hills region. It is Australia's oldest surviving German settlement and there is still Barvarian architecture and a Germanic character to the town.

Hahndorf Resort is where Joe allows Artie to jump into a spa bath full of bubbles while they are staying in a hotel during their road trip. The bathroom was actually a studio set with an extra deep bath, but the interior of the hotel bedroom and the exterior shots of their cabin were filmed at Hahndorf Resort.
