Location notes:

The Devil's Kitchen is a striking rock formation on the cliffs of the coastline in Tasman National Park. Walking trails within the park can take you to Devil's Kitchen.

Location notes:

The "neck" of the play's title is Eaglehawk Neck.

Sue Moss, in her review of the play, states "The Neck is a narrow strip of land a few hundred metres wide, 83 kilometres from Hobart. To cross The Neck is to be inexorably drawn to the former penal settlement of Port Arthur." (6)
